Photographers - any suggestions on filming the upcoming solar eclipse on October 14th?

We happen to be living this year right in the center path of the annular solar eclipse path that is happening on the morning of Saturday, October 14.

If any of you photographers have clues as to how we could best take videos and stills with our iPhones, please pass it along. I'm thinking of just getting a small sheet of solar filter at Amazon and tape it over the camera lens?

Place will get crowded with visitors (big fests like this one), but we plan on staying at our home and just watching from the deck or roof.

If any of you MacResourcers are headed this way, you're more than welcome to park in our driveway and join us for the watching. Just message me.

Eastern Oregon, and Nevada are more likely to not have cloudy weather.
Here is the path.

My Oregon place (btfc West) is maybe 30-45 miles NW of you on the 4 min, 30 sec line.

Must be living right, as totality from the last big solar eclipse went directly over my Idaho place. (It was amazing!)

Campers welcome at my place as well.

If you're in the totality area, you can just take pics at that time. That's what I did on our honeymoon back in 1998.

Annular eclipse, no totality. The center line will go about 50 miles west of my house in SA TX
Lots of open space there.

I found a good map that can give you the exact information including times for anywhere along the path.
Just tap the map, and a little pop-up will show you all the information.
