You're not supposed to be smart enough to source the features for free. That totally goes against Microsoft's marketing plan.

I sit on a man’s back, choking him and making
him carry me, and yet assure myself and others
that I am very sorry for him and wish to ease his
lot by all possible means — except by getting off
his back. - Leo Tolstoy, novelist and Philosopher
(1828-1910)

"Although computer users can't get all of Vista's bells and whistles for free, like cascading windows, ... "
Sure we can get cascading windows from XP: right-click on the taskbar then the pop-up menu will display the option to select.

SoCal for now.

Who wants it?

Three Windoze users at work just bought a PC. Of that group 3 (100%) wish that had XP.

#1 computer blew up - 2.6GHz Celeron w/256MB RAM. New computer is Core 2 Duo (2 GHz?) with 1024MB RAM and he complains that is it slower than the old machine. And less stable too.

#2 Bought a laptop. Was looking at installing XP Pro, but had problems installing (XP does not support native SATA drives on all machines) and Dell does not support anything but the original OS. He figured out how to turn a lot of the crap off and switch to classic XP look. Trying that for now.

#3 User got Vista. He is looking at buying a OEM XP Pro to install.
