Granted this was old news at 5 PM last night.

Wonder where it'll settle at then end of the day today.

Kind of nice to see my 2006 IRA contribution increase 10% in 10 days smiling smiley

I thought they would have announced a stock split at the meeting... It's been higher than the previous amount when it split. And it's been higher for a long time...

Nah, I'm too busy giving myself a ritual face-slap for not buying any $14 shares back in the day...

Hit $102.50, but trending down since then. Still a lot of the trading day left though.

I'm with you. I wish I had some extra $$$ to throw around the stock market when I was younger. Those where the days of beige Performas (I owned a Power Computing clone that was ugly but fast) and everyone writing Apple off as dead. My uncle, the only other Mac-head in my family, bought a few shares at $18 and is now a happy man.

It's bad luck to talk about AAPL during the day.

The amazing thing, and a very TELLING thing, is that Apple's sales of computers increased roughly 34% over this period last year, and the PC side only had an average 11% growth indistry wide. That tells me that more people are choosing Apple over other systems.

Ummm, when you consider that the PC market is MUCH more than apple's 5-10% share, 11% is still a lot more PCs sold than apples.

But, yes, more people are choosing apple than before. Or, their old G4s are finally going to the kids in favor of the newer models smiling smiley

The point I was making is that the Mac segment is growing 3 times faster than the PC segment. So, I have no true idea about the real Mac vs PC sales, but, of the sales increase, 1 out of 4 are macs is the way I interpret the data. And considering the mini, iMac and laptop sales, I have no trouble believing.

I think the number I saw in a recent break down of sales in the retail Apple stores is that MORE than 50% of sales are going to first time Mac buyers. That is good news indeed!
