…..’Blue Bloods’ on CBS….the up coming 14th season will be the last…….

Blue Bloods Ending With Season 14, to Air in Two Parts

.....Those savory Reagan family dinners are — eventually — coming to an end.

CBS‘ Blue Bloods will wrap its run with its upcoming 14th season.

On the bright side? The family/cop drama’s final, 18-episode shift will be spread out across two batches of episodes — 10 airing in Spring 2024 (starting Friday, Feb, 16), and the final eight landing next fall.

Blue Bloods last season averaged 9.4 million total viewers and a 0.7 demo rating (with Live+7 playback), down just a tick from its previous averages (9.8 mil/0.8). Out of the 13 dramas that CBS aired during the 2022-23 TV season, it ranked No. 3 in audience (behind only NCIS and FBI) and tied for third in the demo (behind FBI and Fire Country).......

……ending this season……?!

I watched an episode with my parents about a year ago. I was expecting Magnum PI type Tom. Instead, all I saw was him sitting and leaning to one side. Did not see him stand or walk. Sad. Boring compared to Magnum PI.

WTF.

From one data point.

You never lean in a chair, always bolt upright?

Ok, sure.

That's sad.

You do know that Selleck is 78, right?

Playing a Magnum character (he's BTDT) on a TV series is an absolutely unreasonable expectations.

Ford has it much easier shooting a movie.

Selleck plays a Police Commissioner.

While Selleck's character does walk from time to time, a PC is pretty much a desk job.

So watch the current Magnum.

Oh wait, it sucks big time.

The show is being cancelled because CBS would easily prefer to feed viewers a cheap crap show than a pricey good one.

Rating, what ratings... We don't got to go by any stinking ratings!

The cast, including Selleck, took a pay cut for the next series, and CBS say F/U in return.

Yes, it's a different type of story compared to a lot of TV and his former Magnum.

Not everyone's cup, I get that, but it's still a very good show, just not one everybody likes and not one CBS wants to pay for.

Maybe we'll get some great reality shows in their line up.

As if.

CBS, the new NBC.

Finally

What they were taking up space you needed?

LOL!

I'll miss Blue Bloods.

We've liked the show over the years.

I was a bit unimpressed when Selleck started doing those reverse mortgage commercials, relying on his "good old boy/I"m with you all" personna to sell the things.

It's a big disappointing when I think if him doing those, but that's not very often.

I'd never to one, not that it's a thing, but I'd not want to give anyone a financial reason to want me dead.
