Obviously Washington and Michigan are in.

Here are mine….

If Florida State wins:
Washington
Michigan
Florida State
Alabama

If Florida State loses:
Washington
Michigan
Alabama
Georgia*

*but in ‘fairness’ it’ll probably be Texas

It SHOULD be the Undefeated Conference Champs

Michigan
Washington
Florida State

Plus
Texas Big 12 Champ, 12-1
who BEAT Alabama, IN Alabama, by double digits , 12-1, SEC Champ

San Antonio, TX (in the old city)

During the B1G championship game they were saying it's supposed to be the four best teams, not the four most deserving teams and that Florida State losing their starting quarterback makes them no longer one of the best.

I was looking forward to Michigan vs Washington in the Rose Bowl as one of the semi-final games. It would have been like the Rose Bowl in the good old days, where the best Big 10 and Pac 10 teams squared off. Now, with Georgia's loss, it looks pretty much like Washington will go to number 2, with Michigan being the consensus number one. This might mean Washington hosting Florida State in the Rose Bowl due to Florida State going to number 3.

I've been rooting against Alabama most of my life, but I see the argument that they should be at number 4, which would (if I understand things correctly) result in Alabama vs Michigan in the other semi-final game. The pundits will be saying that this is the de facto national championship game, with the winner of Washington and Florida State being the sacrificial lamb to the winner of Michigan v Alabama. I don't know about that, because at least one pundit talks about Washington playing the tougher schedule. So maybe Washington has the ability to not be blown out.

My view is that Florida State should be relegated to 5th place, and whether you bring in Texas or possibly even Georgia, you would have a stronger team.

Since there is only one national champion, I’m good with any of those teams because it is highly likely that the best team will be amongst any four chosen.

The only things I can’t get over are

1) Alabama’s loss was to a higher ranked team, ironically that may hurt Texas, whose loss was to a much lower team.

2) That was an early season loss, and Alabama is a much better team now.

That would be a pretty big snub, but I agree with the sentiment.

.
But FSU still won both games, and will have the second string QB back for bowl games (it was a game time decision to sit him). Football is a team sport, not just a QB game. They defeated everyone they played and overcame adversity to do it. That is what a winning team does. Neither Texas, Alabama, Ohio State, or Georgia can say that - they all lost while have their best on the field.

Thing is, the playoffs are supposed to be about the four best teams, not the four most deserving teams. And in my opinion Alabama is probably the best team in the country right now, better than Texas, Florida State, Washington, and even Michigan. Therefore I think it would be hard to exclude them. And I hate to say it, because it would be a shame to exclude an undefeated team from a power five conference, but I think Texas is better than Florida State. But at the risk of having egg on my face, I would love it if Florida State stays in and wins it all! And just so y’all know, I don’t have a dog in this hunt (being from Arkansas), so I’d like to think I’m being objective as possible.

Too bad for Fla State.but if most of your wins are against the likes of Duke, Wake Forest, NC and NC State, don’t expect a lot of respect.

Roll Tide.

CFP Rankings. Was not expecting Florida State to be snubbed! I guess $EC rules...

Well that sucks, I wouldn’t have expected two 1 loss teams to get in over Florida State. I wonder if it was the injuries clause that did it? Either way, sorry about that Ombligo.

Wow. I sure got it wrong yesterday. But including Texas and Alabama seems right and fair. But it's also too bad that Washington doesn't get to play in the Rose Bowl one last time.

As for snubbing an undefeated, untied team -- back in the old days when the playoff system did not exist, national rankings were simply what the coaches and the AP voted. Penn State used to go undefeated and then be ignored in the polls, largely because they played a less difficult schedule.

'rines, 'skys, 'horns, 'n'tide.

'noles lost QB, big downgrade w/o.

If 'horns win out, according CJax, the 'bels oughta be National Champs!

'horns lost to 'ners, who lost to 'hawks, who lost to 'cats, who lost to 'gers, who lost to bigger, badder 'gers, who got beat by the 'bels.

Archie, Eli, Deuce, Terry, DK, Charlie, Patrick, and Larry, et al., are much happier now.

Save for legs and heads, if 'noles were in better shape, the 'horns vs. 'tide debate woulda been a doozie.
