Going to Upgrade a MacBook Pro 9,2 Mid 2012 To Ventura using OCLP

It's my main driver for my simple tasks. But I will be needing a newer OS to run TurboTax, and Quicken for Mac.

I have cleaned off my desktop

I have backup using Time Machine.

I have 2 duplicate Harddrives for Data, I thought would be important to store/save.

I thought it would be best to use CCC or SuperDuper, to make a backup or disk image. Super Duper I just updated to 3.8 and I guess I could make a disk image of my HD,

For Super Duper, since I am not going to use this image, only for this Backup, I can choose Sparse Image, not Sparse Bundle??

Any other things I am missing

Going to use Opencore Legacy Patcher to go from Catalina on this 9,2 to Ventura. I played with Sonoma, but there are too many changes going on with it. And maybe Ventura has settled down with Updates.

Just updated OCLP to the latest on my MacBook and now it hangs during boot. sad smiley

The recovery partition doesn't work.

Looks like I need to reinstall the OS - hold onto that boot thing you put together - I've got to find which one I used.

Bummer. Sure wish Apple would help keep these kind of OS updates going, OS software security should not be a privilege.

Did the install this morning after last night making a IMAGE of HD using SuperDuper.

All went well, following and only using Mr MacIntosh directions most current YouTube video for installing Ventura on you Legacy Mac, using OCLP.

All went flawlessly.
