First off, a big thanks to everyone for their posts in my birthday thread on Friday. I was out of town so I didn't have a chance to post a reply then. I'm back home now so I figured I'd say thanks and show you some pics from my trip.

My wife planned a trip and I had no idea where we were going. I knew something about 13 hours in a car, but even when we started driving I wasn't sure where we were going. We drove all night and the next day ended up in Jackson Hole.




We hiked around the base of the Tetons and drove through the national park.





We had quite a bit of fun. Parts of the park didn't open up until today, and we were there during the off season. We pretty much saw everything we could and it was nice because there wasn't a lot of people.

Tons of fun.

There weren't many cars, so the buffalo were hanging out close to some of the back roads. I got some nice shots.

Sounds like a great birthday. Jackson Hole is an amazing place. I was there to ski several years ago. I'd love to go back at some point.

Just to be a spoilsport, I'll point out that the large beast is a bison. There are no native buffalo in North America.

They aren't very aggressive. Still, I never even put the car in park. I drove up slowly, stopped, rolled down the window, took a few pictures of several bison. Plus the EXIF data shows I took that picture at about 118mm. I have other shots that are closer up.

Actiually, in Canada, there is a herd of honest to gosh wood buffalo, which are different than the north american bison, so technically, tronnei is wrong.
