Seemed to me that a lot of "audience votes" were driven by ex-pats or ancestral national/ethnic groups living in other countries, exploiting the loophole of not being able to vote for your country from your country. Israel, Ireland (also potentially political, anti-Israel), and maybe Croatia come to mind.
