An incredible amount of steel to be dealt with now - and that's just the ship.

Is the ship aground?

Low tide?

It didn't appear to move at all with what I'd think considerable weight removed.

I have no idea where the waterline is supposed to be, but it didn't appear to change.

About 14 minutes of that 15½ minute video could have been edited out. Also, why weren't there any horns, whistles or 'FIRE IN THE HOLE' warnings?

If you scroll down this page, there is an animated demonstration of what was done to create the precision cuts that removed the span:

Evidently a big chunk of the bridge remains on the Dali. This article explains it: [www.wbaltv.com]

The bow is embedded where the channel bed rises towards the bridge pier. How much of the rest of the ship is aground has not been clear from the sources I have read.

I relation to the bow not appearing to rise after the weight of the bridge truss was removed I came across mention that they have ballasted the ship forward to keep it from moving during these operations. The intention is to remove that ballast when they are ready to move the ship from where it is aground.

Interesting. This makes sense now that I've heard this.
