For a decade, one of the most amazing connector was Magsafe on my Macs. From the first Intel model, I loved Magsafe.

Then, we had the 'TB' era - bad keyboards, and mono-type ports. Including charging in ALL of them.

So I purchased external charging systems for all of my home docking stations.

I now have new M-series Macs, and I only use Magsafe sort of as an afterthought. I do not take it on a trip, USB-C charger is far more versatile, and I want to be sure to charge on the road.

So, do you Magsafe? And if so, why is it nicer than USBC?

MagSafe keeps my expensive laptop from becoming a pile of expensive garbage. I keep the laptop on a coffee table near the couch and I've tripped over the cord quite a lot.

Also, MagSafe charges a 16-inch MBP more quickly than USB-C when I need to top-off in a hurry.

Sometimes for my 'Phone, always for my Watch, no Mac that uses it, yet.

Depends. When I am at home or mobile I magsafe. If I am at my desk with docking station I USB-C. If they made a good Magsafe Thunderbolt cable that supported 2 4k displays I'd use it in a heartbeat.

Have always loved magsafe. I skipped the entire generation of MacBooks that did not have it. So happy for its return. I like that the magsafe has no chance of damaging the internals of the 'Book, unlike many inserted chargers that put leverage on port when they dangle.

Currently, yes, and I'm very happy to once again be in Magsafe land. Of course I had it for years on my multiple 15" MacBook Pros, but it wasn't an option on my M1 Air. Now I'm using an M1 MBP with Magsafe.

I have it on my MacBook Pro M1. It's a first for me and I like it. Not so much for the safety aspect, but for how easy it is to connect. I just get it close to the port and whammo! Locked in!
