what is the name of the app for OS9 that you can use like Pacifist?
Partial or particular package installs from the install CD.

I'm amazed that there are still people making software available for OS 9, free or otherwise. It is an almost 10 year old OS for a platform that was at best 3-4% of the market.

I'm not trying to knock Mac OS. I'm just saying it started out as a niche player, just as the current Mac OS is. After 8 years (I looked up the release date for OS 9) to think that people still have software available for an obsolete architecture on an obsolete OS after 8 years is impressive.

Considering the Classic environment was supported up through the G5s, it's actual EOL was not that long ago.

To actually answer your question rather than discuss your choice of software and OS, I think you're looking for an Apple utility called TomeViewer.

No problem Fritz.
What amazed me was the folks that took the time out of their busy day to make comments about an "Obsolete OS" without actually helping!
Pre-OSX showed the world that computing power was not only for the anointed few, but also the artistic, not just the mathematic.
The computing landscape was pretty bleak before the Mac.
Measuring the strength or the better of something by popularity (percentage) is a very narrow view.
Using that yardstick, cockroaches are the best pet on the planet. MacDonald's is the best food.

You have to recall that before Mac the computing landscape was DOS.

ProDOS, and unix, and many others, way before MS-DOS.
I not only recall, I lived it.
That was the "Bleak" part of my statement.

I'm unfortunately, never amazed anymore about people.

It's always a little hard to answer this, but the best estimate I've seen puts Mac OS X (all versions) at about 12%.
