I do believe I may be borked.

New iPhone transfer from my old SE2020 went very smoothly. So smoothly that after I made sure everything was there that should be there and everything looked just like my old phone, I wiped the old phone to get it ready to pack up and send off to Apple. Then when I went to sign into my GMail, it wanted to make sure I was me by sending a code...to my old (newly wiped) phone.

What the hell do I do now?

-- edit --

Never mind. After a little hunting, I found a way to have them text me a verification code. As you were. Whew.

It was a good story. It had a beginning, a middle, and an end.

It made me laugh. It made me cry. But most importantly.......

........ It made me think.

I'm sure I'm missing something, but why didn't the code just go to your new phone?

It did, once they gave me the option to have them text it. The initial prompts told me to open GMail on my old phone to receive the email with the code. All's well. Now.

You couldn't check Gmail on another device? It had to be on the old iPhone?

Usually when I sign into Gmail on a new device, it sends me an email to alert me of a "suspicious" log-in from a new device (and maybe a rough location). If it was me, it says to ignore email. If it was not me, then change my password immediately, or something like that.

That's what I was hoping, as I had GMail open on my Mac and got nothing. Well, after I got the text to authorize GMail on the new phone, I then got all those 'suspicious login' emails.

At this point, I don't even trust my memory as to the sequence of events. Bottom line is that it's all working okay now.
