New (to me) vehicle

Kind of a continuation of this thread: [forums.macresource.com]

It's a 2015 Ford C-Max Energi SEL. It has a lot of miles but is in really good condition and was cheap. I have an extended warranty in case those miles take their toll on something major like the transmission.

The C-Max was my third choice after a Prius and then a Fusion Hybrid, but as you can see in my other thread, my old 2006 Prius had just expired.

The C-Max was also cheaper than any Prii or Fusions I could find.

It's an SEL trim and I believe has all the features of a Titanium except a power passenger seat. Leather, power, navigation, Sync, you name it.

The color is hideous. Oh, well. ROTFL It's called "Tectonic" metallic but I think it should be called diluted sewer water. It's kind of like partially polished pewter but looks all sorts of different colors in different light; kind of silver/gray, kind of greenish, kind of gold, depending on the light. More often than not, it looks like goldish sand. barf smiley At least I don't have to see the color when I'm driving it. wink smiley

Other than that, it's by far the nicest car I have ever owned. Great ride, quiet, and obviously great mileage (although not the hybrid mileage king). In a previous thread, after having test driven a C-Max and Fusion Hybrid back-to-back, I remarked how I was surprised that liked the C-Max more.

I'm getting about 40MPG. I'm not up to speed on the plug-in capabilities yet. It has a 20 mile EV-only range, but I have only driven it as a regular hybrid so far.

Auto transport L E A D E R !

I had a 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid with a paint job that would make it look strikingly different midday vs dusk/dawn light. Only sort of cool, and made me worried about how expensive any auto repairs would be to match...

Plug it in, plug it in, plug it in! Congrats. BTW, I think the paint the ‘changes’ colors is very cool.

I am also not a fan of those putty colored cars, but I have seen far worse.

Color is not bad. I know someone with that car and it's served him well for many miles.

Congrats! I didn't realize those had a 20 mile EV range, that would cover the majority of our driving but then again we've only gas in our Prius 6 times in the last 6 months.

Very cool. At least it doesn’t have the disastrous Ford 6 speed dual clutch transmission….

Congrats on the new car. I’m rolling along in the same car for the last…17 years now.

It’s the traction battery. They can weigh a ton or more.
