I reject your reality and substitute my own!

Last fall I got a brochure from the local pest control company that said they: spread granular lawn insect control in a swath around the house. And then use a hose-applied liquid lawn insect control around the house and up the brick wall a foot. And then use an insect killer/blocker around each door and window. They charge $100 for each application (for a 2000 sq ft house) and do it every 3 months and guarantee no insects will get into the house. I happened to be outside when the company did the first treatment at a new house across the street. It took the guy about 15 min to do all of that. I figured I could do that myself and so did but it took me about 1/2 hour. I did it in Mar and June and will continue every 3 months, year round. It looks like I'm spending about $10 on each application. We haven't see any insects in the house this year. Fingers crossed...
