At last!

LONG story.

I decided sometime back in spring 2023 that I wanted to buy a Ford Maverick hybrid pickup. Contacted about 20 localish dealerships with my preferences and nothing was available. Decided to order one - no orders accepted until the release date for the 2024 models - fine I wasn't in any great hurry. On the date the new models were released 7/17/2023 I put in my order with a deposit.

Fast forward - YESTERDAY 8/13/24 I brought my new truck home.

It is totally inconceivable that an order for an existing model takes this long.

That said, it is a nice little truck - and being a hybrid it should cut my fuel bill in half easily for my daily drive of only about 15 miles in town.

This would be my second vehicle if my wife would give up her Subaru.

I hear they have an AWD hybrid this year. That model is in contention to replace my Bolt in 2 years.

It’s hard to give up a Subaru because they are just so dang good.

I am the owner of a Forester who chose an ICE over an EV for the time being. Just hit the year mark with mine. I love it.

I was thinking the same thing!

Congrats on the new Maverick. I hope you will be very happy with your new truck. My wife and I sure like our 23 Maverick. Like you we waited for several months after ordering it, 9 months, and it’s been the perfect vehicle for us. It’s small enough to easily fit into parking spaces and our garage, yet large enough a to carry odd sized cargo that wouldn’t fit in a sedan. It also gets great gas mileage, averaging around 38 mpg. Enjoy!!

I was hoping they'd do a 2 door with a longer bed. That would allow me to just stick kayaks and bicycles in the back without some add-on. But it doesn't look like it so I'll stick with a Tacoma. I do really like them, however.
