I did a Time Machine backup of 2012 Mid MacBook Pro.

I created a usb OpenCore Legacy Patcher for Ventura OS 13.6.9.

I booted to that USB and reinstalled 13.6.9.

All is fixed and opening folders is quick, and hitting the red X, closes the window immediately.
