Trying to import Firefox Logins into a new User's account w/ no joy...., yet. Here's what Mozilla Support says.....

Import login and password data from a file
Firefox

Starting in Firefox version 116, you can import login and password information from a .csv (comma separated values) file. You can use either one of these methods:

Import from Firefox Settings

1. In the Menu bar at the top of the screen, click Firefox and then select Preferences or Settings, depending on your macOS version.
2. In the General panel to the left, click on Import Data under the Import Browser Data section......

===================================

Ancient MBP is maxed out on OSX High Sierra, which means Firefox is in the ESR portal....., which currently is maxed out at......

You guessed it; 115.x
Boo. Hiss.

I can easily export the Firefox Logins into a .csv file, but cannot import the .csv file into the new account's Firefox.

Any/All suggestions greatly appreciated (without buying a new(er) MBP).
Mahalo.

I would do an export out of both the old and the new firefox of the saved passwords into a CSV file. Then take a look at the two files and see what is different. With some luck you might be able to change the older CSV to be able to be imported once you know what it is looking for.

Thanks, but trouble is that the ESR Firefox is missing the ability to import .csv files for logins/passwords. Old MBP is maxed out w/ High Sierra, and Firefox ESR 115.x. Trying to go from Admin user account to Standard user account on the same machine. It's making things way more difficult than I'd like.... as we're trying NOT to have to reenter all the logins and passwords.

I was able to import all the bookmarks, >400, and I'm eventually gonna cull over half of those, but close to 100 +/-, need their logins/passwords reinstated.
Help! Please!
Mahalo.

Why don't you just copy the entire olduser/Library/Application Support/Firefox folder to the newuser/Library/Application Support/Firefox folder. If what you're really trying to do is clone the Firefox environment from the old user.

unwilling/unable to run Open Core Legacy Patcher and put 10.15 on it?

I have 10.15 on an old Mac Pro.

Heller, 554 U.S. 570 (2008) Private citizens have the right under the Second Amendment to possess an ordinary type of weapon and use it for lawful, historically established situations such as self-defense in a home, even when there is no relationship to a local militia.

"The conclusion is thus inescapable that the history, concept, and wording of the second amendment to the Constitution of the United States, as well as its interpretation by every major commentator and court in the first half-century after its ratification, indicates that what is protected is an individual right of a private citizen to own and carry firearms in a peaceful manner." From the NYSRPA v Bruen "Today, we decline to adopt that two-part approach. . . . Despite the popularity of this two-step approach, it is one step too many. Step one of the predominant framework is broadly consistent with Heller, which demands a test rooted in the Second Amendment's text, as informed by history."

Just remember that it will wipe out whatever you had done to setup that new environment and replace it with an exact clone of that old one.

And be sure Firefox isn't running when making the copy and when replacing the folder on the new user's account.

Seems to me that you should probably be using something browser agnostic for login storage.

Yeah, following immediately after what I cut & pasted in the OP, in Mozilla's support blurb, it goes into using several of those thing for just that.
Great minds @ play?

I'm gonna try GGD's gig later today/this weekend, as the new user account is for Mrs. Buzz who's leaving momentarily until Sunday, so I have
some time to get it done. I manually moved over the three sets of creds we needed there, to handle the important/pending stuff. So, fingers
crossed I can get everything working as desired while she's gone, as she has a fire drill planned as soon as he gets back that has to be completed
by Monday evening.... I guess I'll be back if I don't/can't get if fixed adequately by Sunday afternoon. As Rachel says, "Watch this space."
