Week 1
Week one, day one was hectic and crazy but it was a start. It had that “new journey” excitement. By the end of day four, that was gone. Half of the people I spoke to said radiation would just gradually work. The other half said it would get worse before it got better. I am firmly in camp B. Definitely worse yesterday and today. But it’s only FOUR days. I need to keep reminding myself. The treatment was a little different too. More of a truncated process. But it took about the same amount of time b/c they “lost” me. I never got checked in so I never got called, etc. Anyway. Had some more nausea. Except no IV drugs this time. Just a pill. Blah. Felt bad the whole time. Probably the excessive waiting and waiting. Went home. Slept a bit. Woke up. Watched some tv. Loaded up on Benedryl, melatonin, hydrocodone and some other sleep aids and went to bed. Slept most of the night (a first in a while). Feel better this morning. Ready to tackle a two day break in treatment. Except for the drugs. Always with the drugs.

Hopefully each week will be an improvement. Hang in there. I have a family member going through breast cancer for 14 yrs, this is the third time it's come back. She's just coming home today from a week in the hospital. Every day will be better.

The good news is that I just swapped out my Disney+Hulu+ESPN to Disney+Hulu+Max for a couple dollars more. So now instead of a channel I never watch (ESPN) I can have 24 sweet seasons of Deadliest Catch to help me though.
