I've ranted on about Verizon Wireless as service has gotten worse but they keep raising rates to where we we would have been paying about $70 a line.
We tried Visible about 2 years ago but it was unusable in our area due to deprioritization for Visible customers. Our area is pretty much always "congested". I know many of you like it, but basic Visible is not great if you live in a busy area.
The new Visible+ plan is not deprioritized at $45 a month and we were going to consider that but then found US Mobile. The top premium plan is $44 dollars a month and never deprioritized. Assuming it stays this good, we can switch to an annual payment that works out to $32.50 a month for each line, less than half of Verizon for better service.
• Both Verizon and Visible+ cap premium data at 50gigs. USM caps you at 100gigs, which a number I will likely never reach.
• Visible+ will handle the Apple Watch if you have cellular but USM does not support watches yet.
• USM will do iPads but Visible is a bit wonky there, requiring the workaround of setting up the sim first on a phone. Also USM has a cheaper low data plan for the iPad for only like $8.
The potential big bonus for USM is that I initially signed up for "Warp" coverage, which is via the Verizon network, but as conditions change I can "teleport" to either ATT service or T-Mobile service. They just transfer you to a different eSim.
So far, chat support from USM is 5000x better than Verizon or Visible. I ran into some !D-10T errors on my part in the initial port in, but they quickly fixed it up.
So the upshot is we are very happy with USM service so far. Just like Verizon, but far cheaper and better support.
