Which iOS for iPhone 12 Pro Max?

... I keep getting Apple's nag warnings about upgrading; I'm still at iOS 17... should I go to 17.7 or 18.0.1?

You should go to at least iOS 17.7 because there are numerous important security patches in it.

Same iOS as for iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12, and iPhone 12 Pro (regular).

I've heard some really good things about iOS 18.x.

18.0.1 on my 12 pro max. works fine, some squirrelly app icon rearrangement happened, bu i'm adjusting...
