He doesn't get $50 billion compensation packages for nothing.

No other option for internet once wired & cell towers go down.

My kid missed internet while training in middle-of-nowhere rural USA where cell service (on any carrier) was the pits.

So ordered (& received) a Starlink Mini & appreciates free, unlimited service through end-of-year.

BTW, service on the Mini can be paused, with the limited plan only $50 for 50GB/month.

I use a dedicated cellular hotspot for backup now but I'm considering getting a Mini as well.

Dish and the modem.

There's probably an option to pay for it monthly like the others. When the equipment is updated, people aren't going to buy it all over again. That doesn't make sense.
