This has happened twice now so I'm not imagining it.

I received an email supposedly from PayPal and the Subject line preview is something about receiving an invoice. These are usually spam but just to be sure I send them to my Apple Junk Mail folder so i can open them without information about my opening them going to the sender. HOWEVER, twice now, when I click for it to go to Junk Mail before I open it, the email completely deletes. It's not in trash. It's not in my In Box. It's just gone!

How do they do that?

I’ve had that happen with texts. I’ll see it pop up on my notifications on my iPhone. When I actually open the phone later, it’s gone.

I set Mail to delete Junk mail after 30 days.

That folder is seldom checked unless something alike a login verification is taking too long to show up.

Any mail over 30 days is still in my Junk folder when I open it.

However it disappears a second or two after opening the folder.

Newer Junk still remains, but I bin that too.

Or maybe if you'd opened in outside of Junk or Trash, you'd have seen
