So, a corral of Mavericks.

It is what it is.

None of which will actually turn over.

I've been to those caves. There are a lot more things going on besides the storage of cars. There are furniture warehouses there because of the ability to maintain temperature and humidity. I was there to help my brother tear down and ship a tire testing machine to another location for a major manufacturer of tires.

I don't think those are still there, I think it's a picture from way in the past when they were new, just showing that Ford has been using it for a very long time.

One of my brothers owned a Maverick, he claimed it was the worst car he ever had and over the years he owned a lot of clunkers.

My dad owned two Mavericks, a 72 and then a 75. I drove the latter to school. Meanwhile, Mom drove a 72 VW Beetle, a 77 Corolla (that I totaled in a head-on with a landyacht) and then a 79 Corolla in those years.

I'd dispute my brothers assessment of the Maverick since at one point in my reckless car strewn youth, I owned a Rambler American. While you were demolishing the Corolla, I was tooling around town in my 74 Karmann Ghia which I ended up a total as well.

I see what you did there, lol.

Just out of curiosity, were you a Oceanography Grad student in the mid 1970s?

One of my brothers owned a Maverick, he claimed it was the worst car he ever had and over the years he owned a lot of clunkers.

As a point of comparison, was it worse than the Falcon it essentially replaced or the the Fairmont that replaced it? My Granny had a Fairmont when I was a child, it seemed nice enough from the back seat.

The only 70s Maverick I see now are Hot rod versions that were worth keep and keeping up by the owners.
