Poll-- return card?

So, you order a USB 2 card for $10 plus a few more in shipping.

You install it. It works but seems to be firmly grounded in USB 1 territory in terms of speed.

You drop a line to the manufacturer and ask what's up. After a week they respond asking what color the card is. You reply. They tell you it's not compatible with your mac. They tell you to write to another address with X information to request an RMA. You do so. You get an RMA. Shipping back at your own epense, of course.

So, after all that---

Do you pull it and send it in for a replacement which may or may not be the answer (if it arrives), or do you just keep it around for some extra USB 1 ports?

Assuming the post office is kind of a pain to get to during business hours.

Never mind, the answer is clear to me . . . thanks for listening.

I suffer from the same sensitivity that you do. A few nuggets of wisdom were shared with me and I'm "trying" to incorporate them into my life. First, remember that nobody can hurt your feelings unless you let them. You can always reject what is being forced on you emotionally.
Second, nothing changes unless you change it. If you don't want the behavior to be repeated then you need to take action. Otherwise the kid has learned that his behavior is the way to get things done, because everyone lets him get away with it.
In the meantime I sympathize because I've been there.

did someone tell you to order that specific card, or did they ship the wrong one, or did you pick the wrong card?

I go to Postal Annex to avoid the insurmontable lines at the Post Office. The most sad/interesting thing is the looks on the faces of the people coming through the door at the Post Office when they see the line. True horror.

It's listed on the site and the box as mac compatible:
Apparently there are different versions that are different colors. It's not clear to me why I got the color that supposedly is not compatible.

says it is 2.0 compatible ... I'd argue a little more. They advertised it, so they screwed up if it isn't.

You want the proper card at no additional cost to you. You ordered based upon the info given you by their website. You are off the hook.

don't concede a thing.

they send a postage paid call tag, and in a week or so the proper card shows up or you get 100% of your money back. no less.

*sigh*
The "Koutech" people are 3-word e-mail types. I don't get a vibe like they'd even know how to do a call tag.
Are you suggesting I take it up with Newegg? Haven't bothered with them yet-- they can be kind of infuriating in past experience.
Thanks.

Yes, send a quick e-mail w/ your information to new egg... Explain that this particular one isn't osX compatible according to the rep from the manufacture... Ask if they will send you the proper one.

I've always had good interactions with NewEgg. They replaced a motherboard for me that had one month left on the warranty and sent me a postage paid box to RMA it. Then they sent me newer model that had USB 2.0 instead of 1.1. I'd definately call them.

From their perspective this -is- the proper one. What am I going to tell them-- "send me the green one and the yellow one, and I'll send the duds back"?
