Trick or treat scores

Very warm and windy here in NE Ohio. Probably had 100+ kids. My daughter and her wife have out leftover beers from their wedding to parents, water bottles , juice boxes. And big candy bars. Everyone had fun.

I took a nap.

Kids must have had a blast with the leftover Schlitz, did you at least hand out hangover packets?

Zero here. We live on a street with big trees, no streetlights and the houses spaced far apart. I had a small amount of candy available in case any kid dared the walk, but nothing as usual. Now, what the heck am I going to do with this candy?

"In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion." (1987) -- Carl Sagan

Anecdotally, because I don't count - it felt like fewer kids this year. We probably regularly get somewhere between 100-200 but have probably almost hit 300 some years; this year it had to be between 50-100.

We had our largest amount of trick or treaters this year. About 80 kids.

Warm (72F) here in Augusta, ME! Probably warmest in the past decade. Most kids showed between 5:30 and 7:30pm, a few stragglers at 8pm. Closed up at 8:30pm (lights off, curtains drawn). Very quiet in neighborhood from 8pm onward.
Gave out about 6pounds of candy (mini sizes). Most popular were KitKat (regular and witchy green), and AirHeads.
The latter was a surprise to me. Lots of neighborhood kids out with parents, some early teens. all in costume. All got candy (with my thanks, cause I won't be tempted to eat any!)

All in all, a lovely we'en.

As empty nesters, passing out treats on Halloween is one of our favorite times of the year. Temperatures in the 30’s, but not a lot of snow. We had our normal case load of about 35 kids. Kind of fun to review the action later on the Ring cam. One thing my wife observed was that there almost seemed to be more parents than kids - quite the opposite of our own experience as trick or treaters in the 50’s and 60’s.

pretty dismal here - didn't even get close to double digit kids. there were plenty wandering in the neighborhood, but very few ventured down our street.

We had 60 full sized candy bars from Costco. The last ones went at 6:56. We closed up shop and hid upstairs.

Interesting fact: Reeses Peanut Butter Cups were the least favorite choice after years of being the number one pick. I think we are getting kids that have grown up not eating PBJs in their sack lunches. This makes me sad.

There's an odd person in our area that gives out cans of Pepsi to trick or treaters every year.

We had 21, down from 30 last year. Cold, very windy.

Hearing about Reese’s PBCs reminded me that was one of my faves from my youth. How long ago? Well, one house either didn’t have, or ran out of candy one year and gave out nickels instead.

I was unimpressed until I realized that would buy a full-sized (single) PBC!

That’s how long ago.
