Music fans - World Cafe online archive

I have mentioned World Cafe many times as a great way to be introduced to new music
Host David Dye has a great interviewing style - very relaxed and interactive

They have 137 interviews available online now since npr is hosting them

A great resource for anyone interested in a wide variety of music

"Since 1991, World Cafe has showcased contemporary music, serving up an eclectic blend of blues, rock, folk and alternative country. David Dye hosts the program from member station WXPN in Philadelphia. Each show centers on David's "performance chat" with a featured artist or band."

Thanks for the notice. I bookmarked that one.

If it's available, the Joe Jackson one is a treasure.

Shawn Mullins is this week's guest. His new album is going to be excellent. A return to his Kristofferson-esque, McMurtry-esque roots, less pop.

How serendipitous you should post this, I made a mental note to myself this morning to try to track down World Cafe archives. Thanks!

It sure would be nice if you could view the archives by artist.
It's too much of a pain otherwise.

I have a 6-hour tape (videotape used to tape audio) of a year-end "Best of the World Cafe" from the early '90s, when I lived up in Philadelphia. Tons of live performances. David Dye even says at one point "get your tape recorders out" or something to that effect. I am considering creating an MP3 disc out of the whole thing. If anyone is interested in a copy, PM me.
