There's nothing about using this for work that would encourage use for personal passwords.

How is that a blind link?

If you hover over the link, it tells you EXACTLY where it takes you. So does the subject title of the post. I can't think of any more explicit than that,

Also if you use OKTA at work, you know what this OKTA does. If not, you could still click on the link and learn. This is not a fly by night company, but one that is trusted by many large corporations as a SSO (Single Sign On) provider. With several dozen accounts at work, OKTA (or similar) is essential.

We use it at my day job - seems pretty solid.

I may give it a try as a password manager. I assume it works on desktops as well as mobile devices?

A blind link is a link with no description of what linked site is for.

You may be intimately familiar with OKTA; I have no idea who they are or what services or goods they provide. For me, it's a blind link.

I suppose you could say, "Well, if you don't know what OKTA is, then this posting isn't for you." But this is not a forum for OKTA specialists or users.

1. For ANYONE who’s never heard of OKTA, the subject line is useless.
2. The post itself is nothing BUT a single link.
3. “Hovering” over on an iPhone loads the unknown page; what I want to avoid.

Touch and hold a link in Safari to see a preview of the link without opening the page.

An advertisement for a product should be in the body, not the subject line, as it reads like spam, from a spammer or spammer bot.

Remember the groupthink of many of these large corporations. Okta is on a bit of a tough run:

"In 2022, Okta got hit by a phishing attack, a breach and had its GitHub source code stolen. [In 2023], a string of attacks hit high-profile customer environments over the summer and a third-party vendor attack exposed health information on nearly 5,000 current and former Okta employees.

Then came the September attack against Okta’s support portal. BeyondTrust, Cloudflare and 1Password all came forward to say they were downstream victims of that attack. And Okta’s early estimations concluded that just 1% of its customer support system clients were impacted."

but then...

"Okta’s announcement last week that an earlier report of customers exposed to an October breach had been grossly underestimated -- with the entirety of its huge client base exposed, instead of the 1% previously reported -- sent shockwaves through multiple industries and left IT security leaders scrambling to respond."

My last employer installed the Okta on my work computer, trying to get me to use it to log in to my computer. I figured out a way to bypass it and rarely used it, despite the "we've noticed you haven't logged in" messages, which made me even more suspicious of the purpose of the software.
