My now wife took me there very early in our dating years... We waited about 15-20 minutes to sit down and our damn waitress forgot to get our coffee about 5-10 times... Lost our order slip so we told her our order again (while many people that arrived after us got their food) I said "AND CAN WE GET OUR DAMN COFFEE AT LEAST"...

Finally when she walked by again without our coffee I made a unholy scene and freaked out and left blowing the horn all the way out... Well guess what? That location is now closed so obviously they just didn't understand that they need to get people their cup of coffee and everything will be fine...

So, it will take more than a short stack of pancakes to make me go back...

I look back and am very surprised that my g/f (now my wife) didn't run for the high roads...

Just be warry of unsupervised children licking and drinking syrup directly from the dispensers. I haven't been to IHOP in 2 years since that incident (the table next to ours, not my kids).

And yes, rgG, it was the IHOP on Alpharetta Hwy near Mansell.

DavidS,
I'm glad you finally told me what that bad incident at the IHOP was. I had imagined much worse. Actually, I usually don't order pancakes, they have several other things I like. But now I'll check those syrup containers very carefully before I use them, if I work up the nerve to use them, at all. smiling smiley

rgG,

Don't just check the syrup containers, bring some Lysol wipes and give them a good scrubbing.

This was 2 little boys (probably about ages 4 and 2). The older one looked like he was making love to the maple syrup, slobbering all over it. His little brother then picked up one of the other ones and started drinking it like it was a sippy cup. All the while, their grandmother (I assume) was at the table and didn't stop them.

We wanted to point it out to the waitress, but were too grossed out and just wanted to leave.

DavidS,
Maybe the best thing is for me just to bring one of those little bottles of maple syrup like they give you at the Cracker Barrel with me. That way I know it wouldn't be tainted. If I forget, I may just ask for extra butter and skip the syrup.
