Aggregate wifi signals?

Someone on here was looking to collect nearby wifi signals and combine them to aggregate the bandwidth. Someone here has done it:

I am reminded of the helmet with the knives fanning out that Jessica Lange wore in the movie Titus, but Google Images struck out and I don't have time to provide a screen cap. Ah well, you're probably better off. ;)
