I was here since we had only a few threads, I remember we tried really hard to break the one page barrier the first official night.

I also got banned from the old forum, and stopped visiting, but I have read about Tom Cruise and his campaign, how they block the URL or IP of this forum, at first in the forum then also in Private Messages.

So, if you just found out about this place, i.e TODAY, what brought you here? certainly it wasn't a post or a private message, nor a Tom Cruise image... then what was it?

iaJim was smart enough to put the URL in the subject header of the PM that he sent to mick e. The MoonBot couldn't pick it up there.

Them were the good old days, before the riff-raff came and wrecked this place.

Don't get me wrong, I think this forum is great, but still I miss some of the old timers . . . they really knew how to disagree respectfully, an art that's as much as lost in the last few pages. And it does seem at times like the folks with the nitty-gritty technical knowledge don't post as much as they used to in the "golden age" of the mr/f.

I suffer from the same sensitivity that you do. A few nuggets of wisdom were shared with me and I'm "trying" to incorporate them into my life. First, remember that nobody can hurt your feelings unless you let them. You can always reject what is being forced on you emotionally.
Second, nothing changes unless you change it. If you don't want the behavior to be repeated then you need to take action. Otherwise the kid has learned that his behavior is the way to get things done, because everyone lets him get away with it.
In the meantime I sympathize because I've been there.

I was at Tempe's new forum (http://www.macinforum.com is it okay to post that here or will it get censored?) and someone posted there asking for a link to OWC Larry's forum. That's how I found out.

So what was the deal with Tom Cruise??? People were posting a picture of Tom Cruise on DealMac and if you clicked on the picture it brought you here? If so, that's hilarious!

I agree about the lack of good link from OWC. I had trouble and had to go back to dm to find it in the Tom Cruise post.
