Pricing question

Now that there are new models of MBPs out, how long will it take for refurbs of the 2.16 MBP to drop in price?

Or does that take a long while?

In otherwords, should I buy one now, or by the time the price drops would there be any left?

Thanks muchly!

I think it would happen pretty soon but the refurbs already are refreshingly cheap. What amazes me is how the prices on the G4 14" iBooks held up so high for so long. For a while they were more expensive than refurb Macbooks. This bugged me because I wanted one.

They are relatively cheap, but any drop helps me get the other goodies I need to go with the new book. ;->

As the new ones are more expensive there is less incentive for Apple to lower the refurb prices. Wasn't the last generation cheapest about $1600? New stuff is $1999. From the comments here it sounds like the originals are terrific machines.

Buy now! It's good for the economy and the Leader who needs a new Mercedes.

Did he order his new Electric Mercedes? I mean, he Vegan and shouldn't be touching ANY animal products. That goes for Dinosaur fuel or cow sh** for fertilizer. So, I'm sure he has hemp seats and solar powered option on his Mercedes? Or is he a hypocrite Vegan?

LOL.

Funny, I went off on my friends sister and husband, who is vegetarian and are both borderline "vegan" one night because she was wearing a leather coat. Now, yes it was from a thrift store but still bugged me based on her lecturing me before about my ways. Also, I asked her "IF" she though it was ok to collect cow sh** from cows in captivity for her to enjoy her soy and vegetables. I mean, she told me how wrong for them to drink Milk because it was an animal product. Especially, because they were held in captivity. Haa haa...

Just ordered the new toy from Macmall.

Rebate brings the new machine to $1649, just $50 more than a refurb from apple.

They have about 100 left, all matte, incase anyone needs to know . . .

silly me, i should have guessed from the 1650 price

buddy just couldnt do the 2.16 and then upgrade, so he did the refurb 2.33 for $1999 with the 2 gigs ram, 120 gig drive and 256 meg video. he lives in NH, no tax.

I looked at the new model, but 1g ram for this machine is only $40.

While I do some graphics, etc., it will be more than enough of a boost from my trusty Tibook 500.

Now, I'll pop the hard drive from my father's Pismo into the Tibook and make him happy. . .
