After seeing the demo, I heard the "Jeopardy" theme and many sounds from the Super Mario games. Makes me wonder if they are paying for the use of thes sounds.

Some sounds can be trademarked if they distinctly identify a good or service. Tunes are subject to copyright. The MGM lion's roar and the THX intro sound are trademarked.
