QuickTime Pro problem

I download the Photoshop Guys pod cast each week and edit clips of tutorials that I want to keep (bracket, copy, New QT document, paste, save), but I'm unable to do this with the current pod cast. Immediately upon "paste" in the new QT document, QT crashes and quits. I can inverse the process and delete the beginning and end of a tutorial segment and save the tutorial.

Using QT Pro 7.1.3 on G5-dual, 2.5gig RAM, OS 10.4.9

Can you save the whole thing, then export as quicktime, then edit?

I tried that last night, Jim, No problem. But I still cannot save out a selective clip, even from the new export.
