Anniversary dinner....Cheesecake factory..

Those guys are INSANE with the size of the side items. Mine came with Broccoli. I have never liked it. But, I forced myself to eat a wee little bit of it.

WHO eats that large of ANY side??? They are insane.

On the positive side, Parisian's going out of business sale...netted myself 80% off a nice dress shirt.

Broccoli, yummm!

Steamed lightly with a little garlic salt and then a squeeze of lemon juice. Amazing!

I love broccoli!

Broccoli is almost like candy to me if it is steamed. It is also extremely good for you and a staple of the dieter, a filler food. I also went to the cheesecake factory this last week. The service was atrocious but the food was delicious. I had the black pepper shrimp and I thought it was one of the best meals I have ever had. I topped it off with the peanut butter cheesecake with white chocolate, mmm.

I love broccoli. I could eat it every day. One of the things I liked best the time I ate at Cheesecake Factory was the enormous side of broccoli!

It's almost breakfast and I'm going to chop up some leftover broccoli and mix it in with a couple of scrambled eggs. Toss in some sauteed onion, melt some cheese on top add a couple strips of applecider cured bacon and a piece of raisin toast. Mmmm......!!

Broccoli is fantastic stir-fried...don't know how people eat it steamed, though.

If you don't like Broccoli (he did make a few good movies) wait til you meet Brussel Sprouts. I really like them, better than broccoli.

Thing I never understood was cauliflower, it was like something to crunch if you didn't want any taste.

True, the cauliflower sold in most supermarkets does not have much taste.

Proof positive that broccoli is bad for you, maybe it's the ranch that rots your brain. Bet even cauliflower would taste OK if drowned in ranch dressing - spinich even.

Some eat broccoli with melted cheese (only way I can cope with cauli is with cheese on it).

Microwave until al dente, grill with grated matured cheddar cheese on top. Fresh-ground black pepper.

You can add some strong cheese like Parmesan Reggiano ($50/kilo here in Australia) to the cheddar for a bit more flavour.

You can't get kids to eat broccoli.

Broccoli is virtually fat-free, low in sodium and contains more vitamin C than an orange!

My choice would be Romano cheese for most veggies. Very different from cheddar and much sharper than Parmegsan. That assessment might vary from continent to continent.

I like almost any vegetable hibachi style, and used to love broccoli & cheese soup.

These days, me and that kind of cheese have an understanding; I don't bother it and it doesn't bother me.

The best way to eat broccoli...broccoli soup, with a dab of sour cream and some scallions. Absolutely delicious! When I make it, even the kids love it.

Perhaps jp! doesn't like broccoli because he doesn't know how to cook it. I think many people have aversions to good foods because they don't know how to cook.

Got Pecorino over there, RgrF? It's different again from the other hard cheeses.
