Why have 'plates' or registrations? What good are they?
Why have plates or registrations that expire?
Why not have automatically-renewing plates/registrations?
Who woke up and decided such things were what society needs?

I wonder what happens when the checker runs up against the tinted license plate cover (it's illegal to cover the license plate with *anything* in CA.
The tinted covers are popular in the SF Bay Area, to help disguise the plate. And I say "plate" rather than "plates" because so far, I've only seen them on the back (illuminated) plate.
