you mean a touch sensitive nano...

I read the article. The writer is confused. This is the next generation ipod using the iphone interface not a half priced phone as alluded to.

That is what the writer said....a kick wheel iPOD/iPhone. That is what the filed patent is quoted as.

"We believe that iPod Nano will be converted into a phone because it's probably the only way for Apple to launch a lower end phone without severely cannibalizing iPod Nano," he said, noting that the new phone could have "rather limited functionality."

The way it is written in the article suggests that the new nano will also have phone capabilities. IMO this will not be the case. The new nano will have the full face touch screen like the phone but WITH NO PHONE CAPABILITIES. "rather limited functionality" = just ipod.

But we will wait an see.

Apple doesn't need another phone. Not anytime soon.

They started out with just one iPod which was smart. Let's keep it simple, build up the market and then get creative. People still want just an iPod, no need to make everything a phone.
