Hmmm... the current stock consists as follows (not including the babies):
Freya, and her daughter Geo (Geo is sister to Inky, and the unnamed male above)
Inky (and her pups)
Two sons of Freya and Charlie (one is the unnamed male above, the other is his cream male brother)
Two sons of Freya and Rousseau from her first litter (both unnamed; both sable bandeds, VERY friendly)
Anastasia and her litter
Arielle, the cream banded daughter of Freya and Rousseau (and sister to the two unnamed sable banded males mentioned above) ... Arielle is really something else. She will "stand" (take the mating posture) for me whenever I pick her up, but often not for males, and has about the most dense, beautiful coat I've ever seen.
Two unnamed daughters of a litter between Grace (who I no longer have) and one or both of the unnamed sable banded sons of Freya and Rousseau above; I was not thrilled with this litter, and will probably end up giving them away. These two females are almost entirely white, with a little color on their heads and tails. One of the two is also satin. (That's why I did the cross in the first place, because Grace was a satin.)
A satin sable male, unnamed, brother to the two daughters from Grace's litter above. He IS a satin sable, but was really disappointing in terms of appearance and temperament... his satin is not particularly great, his appearance is so-so, and his disposition is annoying. That's why I'm trying to get a satin sable again...
The unnamed satin cream banded male I used to mate Inky with ... he's the scrawny one... not sure how long he's going to live, because with his tooth problems, he has trouble eating...
And finally, the unnamed shorthaired roan sable, I think he is, that I recently picked up at Petco and posted about awhile back. He's really beautiful, but I'm not sure what to do with him, because I'm not really sure what he is... the typical thing would be to mate him to a Golden, and figure it out... but that's pretty boring, would likely result in Golden roans, not particularly exciting.
... I think that's it. I will definitely be giving away a number of these animals, so that should bring my numbers down a bit. Basically, I tend to give away whatever I don't like in terms of appearance or temperament... I hold onto things I think might be handy in terms of breeding... since I am breeding for appearance and temperament, this means that I often end up with extra animals that, when they go up for adoption, go like hotcakes because everyone wants a hamster that's beautiful and so friendly that it will crawl into your hand in order to play with you...
Freya says, 'Hello from NOLA, baby!' (Laissez bon temps rouler!)
