Best way to drink coffee lying down?

I rigged myself a laptop stand out of PVC pipe and Can Bandzz a few years ago, so I can laptop in bed . . . a nagging problem, though, is that my coffee often goes cold while I'm laptopping because drinking it requires moving everything out of the way and sitting up.
Anyone know of a solution that will allow one to happily sip a hot beverage in supine?
Thanks!

short of a ceramic straw or an astronaut squeeze container thingy-- well, you can try a sports bottle- use a polycarbonate bottle with a spigot top and wrap it in foam insulation (like those beer can 'cooler' thingies everyone gives away).

But seriously- does it do your esophagus good to drink coffee lying down ?

Any pet lovers here? Do they make those gerbil/guinea pig bottles that hang upside-down out of glass, or inly plastic?

3-5' of aquarium air tubing! I used to do this in classes that refused beverages. Drill a hole in the top of a two liter bottle big enough for the tubing and leave it hidden away in a backpack.

Do you drink your coffee in 1oz. sips?

Hit the wall mounted button and exactly 1oz of coffee will be dispensed into your mouth through a tube.

You can't get out of bed because you haven't had your coffee.
You can't have your coffee because you're still lying in bed.

Catch-22, I guess.
I wonder how the rest of the world does it.

No, the rest of the world drinks either tea or muddy water from a puddle.

Apparently he has his coffee, his problem is he can't drink it without sitting up.
I guess the person who brings it to him should administer it to him as well.

Supine is supposed to be bad for the lungs.

Get a carpenter with a nail gun to attatch you to the wall.

Chuck Norris roundhouse kicks his coffee cup and drinks the coffee while it is still in mid-air.

h', Maybe I missed it somewhere but what happened that you're laid up in the bed? Not trying to be nosy just concerned.

No, I'm fine, working full time, lifting patients-- I have a spinal problem (or better said a few layers of spinal problems) that makes it hard (and detrimental) for me to sit, and reclining for as much time I can spend doing so seems to help.

You work full-time lifting patients and you have a spinal problem? That must be rough.
I have chronic lower back pain due to wear and tear. My pain specialist says he's done all
he can for me and wants me to see a surgeon. I'm not sure about that, cutting on my back is
the last thing I want to have done.

Sorry to hear that. I know much more than I wish I did about backs. Feel free to PM me the details if you want an opinion re: surgery.
For better or worse, barometric changes affect me much more than anything I do physically-- and I've become a master at lifting in the smartest possible way, setting up the environment to help, etc. The hardest part is watching others flirting with disaster-- most people are only able to learn the hard way, unfortunately.
