I do a lot of large files downloading and uploading during the day while I am at work. If the password authentication only happens during sleep, Will that halt my file transfers during the day?

If so, is there a key command to instantly turn on the screen saver which also will demand a password before entry?

PW request happens at sleep and when the screensaver activates.

You can set a hot corner for screen saver activation (I assume there is a hot key setting too).

If your computer goes to sleep everything stops. It will not wake up to do anything either w/o a password (it wakes up for a few seconds, waits for PW, then goes back to sleep if it is not entered).

how do I set the hot corner?

Can I set a key command instead? I don't want to be tripping the Hot corner while I work.

These are the times I wish Apple would have put some sort of "Help Menu" in OSX to assist poor souls like this.
