Recommendations for combo external firewire/USB 2.0 cases will work with this drive?

Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 (Perpendicular Recording) ST3500630AS 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM
[www.clubit.com]

Can it be any ATA/IDE case?

Thanks,

cassie

Drobo - j/k

You can have any ATA/IDE case IF you have adapters to go with it.

You will need a case that has Serial ATA built-in.

500 gig drives are cheaper from the forum sponsor. OWC (see a few posts below)

you just missed this external 500 gig FW/USB drive for $120 (now $180)

external cases for SATA drives are harder to find, or at least the selection is much smaller...

Cases for SATA drives are so abundant these days (at least since last Summer).

Here you go for pretty much anything: [www.cooldrives.com] or www.coolgear.com

Get one with a decent fan for cooling. I would rather keep a drive cool than risk overheating an enclosure to spare myself a little barely noticeable fan noise.
