I have a slightly yellowed IIFX sitting across from me @ 8 MB of memory, 40 MB Drive w/ a cannon NuBus Digital camera Communication card w/ a 640x480 digital video camera w/ TONS of camera discs.

Worth anything?

Worth a ton in geek lore, but hardly worth a dollar.

Post to the low end mac swap list. I'm sure you'll get some interest there.

I craigslisted all my old beige macs - some guy seemed happy to pick them all up, and I didn't have to pay him anything.

He even took my $3800 IIci/Personal Laser NT combo for nothing.

It's worth a stroll down memory lane, whatever that is going for these days.

I have a Freecycle Geek that is thrilled everytime I call him to come get my old iron. It's nice to not have to be the one that actually throws them in the trash cuz I'm usually the guy rescuing them from said trash... Wow!? Do I have a problem? Nah, I didn't think so.

Gotta be worth quite a bit, even today!!! They were like $5000 new!! It's easily worth half its original price, so back off to $2000 and call it a deal!!

lost, if you're gonna take that tack, why not ask them to wire it to your home in Nigeria so you can rescue your uncle, the deposed President of Whatassamatta ? I'm sure they can pony up a few bills for a chance at 10 billion uqi-uqi's (The currency in Whatsamatta). The fact that the exchange rate is 1 billion uqi-uqi's to one US penny, well, we won't share that with him.

Find someone who will pay those kind of prices, pass it on. That might be worth emptying my closet and pulling out the IIfx stored there. Working when I put it there 8 years ago even.

If it doesn't boot up the first time. Let it sit a few minutes and try again. I think the capacitors need to charge up or something.

You should totally get a storage shed @ $100 a month and hang on to them for 10-20 years.

You could always pony up $100 to MAX OUT THE RAM and have a REALLY SMOKING FAST IIfx!

From the LEM-Swap list today:

I have for sale some sets of four 16 MB SIMMs for the Macintosh IIfx.
Adding one of these sets adds 64 MB of RAM to your IIFX.

Yes, these are the 64 pin SIMMs used in the IIfx with separate data
in and data out busses.

Here is the front: <[www.prismnet.com] >

Here is the back: <[www.prismnet.com] >

The price is $50 per set plus shipping from 78759 in the USA.
Within the USA shipping will typically be $4.60 for Priority Mail
with Delivery Confirmation.

I also ship internationally by Air Letter Post, which is now called
First Class International. The charge for international shipping
will typically be in the neighborhood of $9, except Canada which will
be the same $4.60 for shipping as in the USA.

Email me at trag@io.com.

I take PayPal, money orders in USA dollars (e.g. many nations' postal
money orders) and personal checks drawn on USA banks with time to
clear.

Is Jeff Walther still out there selling Mac stuff? Half the stuff he used to sell on the Usenet Mac groups was original, the other half was modified to work the same as original using non-original parts. Mostly the modded stuff worked, and at least from all reports he stood behind his work and would fix or replace items that failed early.
