We don't need no stinkin Phil. Down here in the South we've got our own groundhog, Gen. Beauregard Lee.
"BREAKING NEWS....
Beau does not see his shadow, foretelling the early arrival of Spring!
TIME: 7:36 am
TEMP: 39 degrees (adjusted for TV lights)
HUMIDITY: 68%
General Beau Lee, Ph.D., Georgia’s Official Weather Prognosticator and internationally recognized furry forecaster, roused by the din of the morning "flydown cackle" and legions of "Beau Boosters," squeezed through the recently-widened door of his Southern Mansion at 7:36 AM EST in 39-degree weather at The Yellow River Game Ranch in Lilburn, Georgia, a 24-acre animal preserve.
In his characteristically purposeful fashion, Beau waddled to the edge of the spacious verandah and searched across the front lawn for an extended period of time. Within moments, Beau's prediction was obvious to all even before Game Ranch CEO Col. Art Rilling proclaimed:
“Put away your parkas, y'all, and unpack the petunias. Beau did not see his shadow. IT’S AN EARLY SPRING!”
