Well...met a new contact today, which I will definitely utilize. Mike Bombich. Great guy.

He said that he doesn't really get bothered much with people asking him about updates...lol.

Anyways, without commenting on anything else, and this seemingly to be fine with the information...he is shooting for April, with a new version of CCC. He is awaiting an Apple bug to be fixed by then. No guarantees obviously, but that is when he's hoping.

He also said, which I've known, that CCC runs just fine under 10.4.2, after Apple fixed a bug.

He has been with Apple for nearly 4 years, which I was unaware it had been that long.

Anyways, that is all.

Yeah, Mike and Sara are really nice folks. I had the chance to meet and buy them lunch at MWSF about 3 years ago. CCC has saved me a lot of headaches.

...yea, they just had a baby boy back in October.

I've donated for CCC 2 or 3 times...

That program has saved me dozens, if not hundreds, of hours of work swapping intaller disks.

That and NetRestore (also by Mike) are the best dang utilities I have next to DiskWarrior and Disk Utility, and I'll bet I use CCC more often than those two put together!

Saleenl made the move over here & has posted about Mike B's progress with a rewrite of CCC a couple of times.

Will they drop the first C with the next edition? It wont be carbon will it?

I actually switched to SuperDuper! based on his recommendations (at the time); will give CCC another try (and send more donation) when he does the next update.

Carbon as in carbon copy, but even then carbon copy and cloner seem a little redundant.
