Any good deals on a portable hard drive?

Dad saw one I got free from work. Now he wants one but this time I have to go shopping for one. I found a Western Digital 120GB for $90 but would love to find a better deal. Something portable not just external. Anyone have their ears open?

EDIT: BTW he has a PC so it would have to be a USB 2.0.

If you have a laptop it might be time to upgrade the size of your hard drive and then buy and external 2.5 usb2 case for the "old" one. Did that with my macbook's 80gig - bought a 160gig for $85 and then found a case for $10+ that would take the old one.

Here's a Staples deal that starts Sunday. Maxtor OneTouch III 160GB mini portable hard drive for $99.98. Looks like the 80GB is going to be $59.98. That is the upcoming circular for my zip code, but yours may be the same.

Maxtor® OneTouch III 80GB mini portable hard drive 674372 Was $99.98 Now $89.98 - $30 instant savings = $59.98

as kj noted from geeks, add'l FireLites of various flavors should still be findable cheaply in cybershoppingland. also keep an eye on the back to school circulars for/from the usual sources, and don't forget to snag your online coupons before shopping. good luck.

and then there's times when it's really better.
