So who thinks the new ipod will essentially be the iphone sans a phone? That is have wireless internet capabilities, but no phone functions.

While I would LOVE that, my sense tells me it won't be that great. I expect a iphone like design but limited to a new iphone touch interface and widescreen video.

Still really nice but not the complete knockout punch the wireless would have been.

No WiFi, no internet. Not an 'Phone sans phone, but just a fraction of the 'Phone.

I'm thinking a 'Pod with 'Phone cues, but that's it.

I'd want it to look like a 'Phone, have a big touch screen with three hardware buttons for Previous, Next, and Play/Pause, Bluetooth, and 80G. That would do it just fine.

I don't see much of that happening, though.

I'm with Jamie - I want an iPod with wireless, that's enough for me. And of course, OS X... Don't need nary phone

Seeing as how "wireless" hasn't been of even the slightest help to MS with the Zune, I'm disinclined to think they'll bother. They'll focus on making a great video iPod and leave the wireless for when WiMax and/or other technologies bring us closer to "internet all over town."
