Dell PC hit by lightning.

Hello,

I am a long-time Mac user that 3 years ago had to buy a PC to run Proprietary software for work. We had an electrical storm last week that fried the Dell so I need replace it. From everything I've read, an Intel Mac running Boot Camp with WinXP is identical to a PC. Does this also include the peripherals? Will I have any issues with PC drivers, ect? I would like to buy a MBPro.

The funny part is I have 2 other Macs that were on at the time of the storm and they were both fine.

Thanks.

You understand more or less correctly...

There are three ways to run Windows on a Mac;
Bootcamp (free from Apple)
Paralells (not free)
VMWare Fusion (not free).

WIth the first choice, you have to boot into one OS or the other.
WIth the second two, you can switch back and forth between the two OS'es.

I THINK peripherals operate pretty well under any of the three, but have only just started experimenting with the options.. so have no personal experience with 'em yet.

Hope this helps.
