Anyone know how come pipiens and TheTominatior don't show their combined totals like this example:

NEVERMIND, I'm slow but I figured it out. . .

Were we going to poll the top folders of the old team if they wanted to change the Dealmac team name or not?

I think they are mostly here but I didn't get a chance to really poll them all.

I changed my team number in InCrease but apparently the WU's are still being saved to the DM team.

What do I need to do to fix this?
Helllllpppp!

How much of a contribution is a G3/333 running 24/7 going to make?

How fast can I expect it to process a work unit?

Depends a lot on the work unit...
Some work units will go quick.. others will be like passing a kidney stone..

It's going to take me a while to reset my folding machines... I was hoping to just have the old team renamed...
Such is life though...

It depends on the type of work unit and how many points assigned to the unit.
I'm guessing that you might something like 200 points every two weeks or so.

If anyone is interested, total points for an individual folder can still be shown if the team number is omitted. To show how your stats will display if you change teams, here's the two team member changes I mentioned above:

I'm all for a complete team change-over.

Think of it like a sponsored team - Lance rode for USPS and now he rides with whatever on his back.

I think we should change the team name if we can, and just use the same number.

When the team was started, it was to accomplish the work and boast the "community." If the community doesn't "live" at that address anymore, then the team address should change.

That's my vote.

Or would you prefer 20 paragraphs?

I concur doctor.

I have not been folding for DM but for this new community I am willing to start up again. I have three computers so I could help a little bit. Mostly PCs.

I am still contacting people on the team. I wish this new formation could have waited a bit while we figure out a course of action and let it be truly community based.

I switched 5 computers over last night.
Is there ANY possibility that the old team will be renamed?
I am with Paul F, this is going to be a pain to switch all these computers over, but I am willing to do it if necessary.

Larry;

I THINK it was determined that Max_Cat did...
(and by the way, my cat, Max, is irritated that someone registered his handle!)

[forums.dealmac.com]

I don't know if he started the team or not.

Mac Max and I have been talking the past 2 days about what to do about the team. We are currently trying to contact many of the team members to see what they feel like doing.

The real objective is to get as much folding done as possible while having a little fun at the same time. I suggest leaving the old team as it is for all those that don't want to switch ( it is a bit of a pain ). Those that want to move can go here or somewhere else - whatever is most fun for them. I think that this will maximize the total folding.

I plan to use the opportunity to goad myself to better efforts. I have been trying to find a way to the 1000/day level.

Keep folding neighbors and enjoy yourself !!

Thanks to OWC for the opportunity and all the folding they are contributing.

Lots of fast CPUs sure seems right. What I am trying to figure is how to get the spare cycles on a bunch or them without actually buying any. An unused cycle is a resource that is gone forever- It can't be recycled.

Find a school or business that doesn't fold and make a pitch to them, or to their IT folks.
Hunt up that PPT that someone posted about and use it for that.

Come to think of it, I think I will do that as well!

fold your proteins into oragami - and hang onto them.

As soon as pRON can coerce...er, manages to motivate the guy with the passwords, you can mail the results directly to Stanford, and not only will there folding credit, but a unique piece of art for the department head at Standford.

.

or not.

you know - kinda of a tough call. I kind a like having a dedicate Mac Resource Page/Forum folding team...

In just a few days, already up to 33 CPUs active and ranking of 6528 out of 41729.

The other folding team has/had 552 active CPUs in the last 50 days.

I'd bet we can bring on more than that in the next 30 days through various promotions, Macworld, etc.

Honestly - I would really have thought there would have been more on the other one. OS X team is the biggie... but hey- I may just be on a real crusade to see team 48057 jump and jive!

Fun for a good cause. smiling smiley

Since the name change...I'm likely going to be sticking with team: 38910

I had also created a team, a very long time ago, for my own entity/affiliation (Medical School), and thought about switching everything over to that, finally. Of course, tossing some more CPUs in the mix, but team 38910 was more community-based, than Dealmac-based (to me anywyas)...Dealmac just so happened to be the medium where the majority of us communicated. I believe I even tried to get my Medical School 'tagged' along the backend of the "Dealmac" team name for the folding team, as a sponsor...but my request/idea was ignored. *sigh* lol

As such, it appears this is the place now...the team name has changed to reflect that, so current Team 38910 members should stick around for a while, and hopefully pick up some more along the way. Hopefully it will be the official MacResource Folding Team, but I understand the control issue (team creator logins, etc.) that may be in the way for the new team (mainly OWC peeps) to want to fully switch over.

I'm also planning on getting more CPUs in the project.(which I've been saying for a year now though : )

With all respect, Larry, for your desire to see your sponsored team jump up the chart, I'll hang with 98310 for the time being thanks to the name change. No... wait... that's 38910 -- it can get confusing when it looks a bit like your ZIP code...
