Back into my hole I go. Thank goodness I have the Rocket Laser Arm and his team. Four runs in three games. Ramirez just played his way into a Yankees uniform and Soriano is the biggest bust of the post season so far.

They went quietly, didn't they? Piniella just looked flummoxed.

That series reminded me of the 2004 World Series. I was really looking forward to a real barn burner between the Cards and Red Sox and the Cards just didn't seem to show up to play.

The Cubs were so flat. OTOH as an Orioles fan I envy them for getting there.

His current postseason average (.000) would fit right in.

At least they got to the playoffs. Can't blame Dusty this time.

The curse of the Cubs goes back to the Cubs' Frank Chance using furtive methods to steal the 1908 pennant from the Giants by screwing poor Fred Merkle. They stole that pennant and the World Series. They have not won since. The Merkle curse has been in effect ever since.

AP reported:
Webb was locked in a tight game with Carlos Zambrano until Chicago manager Lou Piniella made a questionable move. He pulled his ace after only six innings and 85 pitches because he plans to bring the right-hander back on three days' rest in Game 4.

Did planning for Game 4 cost the Cubs in Game 1? Piniella was terse when a reporter asked if he could be accused of looking ahead. "I'm bringing back a pitcher on three days' rest on Sunday."

Good news, Lou. Zambrano will be well rested for his next start.

Don't ask who the bell's for, dude. It's you.
