Finally stopped at a place and got some 'mexican' coke...

That is.. SUGARed Coca Cola.

Could not really tell much difference, to be honest.

I can tell. It's less syrupy, slightly less overtly sweet, more refreshing. Maybe I'm buying into the hype, but I like it.

Keep in mind, Coke has a different flavor in just about every country. So comparing Coke with sugar vs. Coke with high fructose corn syrup doesn't mean much.

I just like it with Sugar as it's easier for your body to break down.

depending on the commodity price, you never know when they change from corn syrup to beet sugar. Coke used beet sugar for decades - and the changes aren't announced.

Mexican sugar will (finally) be imported into the U.S. sans restrictions January 1.

Wonder if it'll make any difference in the sodas we buy.
