is DHL incompetent?

ordered a new keyboard as a replacement for my imac keyboard which died. Did the DIY parts repair from Apple's website to order the new keyboard. Should have been here yesterday. Called DHL today to see what their deal was, and there was some sort of "sorting error" that had prevented them from getting it to me, but "it will be delivered to you tomorrow". Ok, so two days after scheduled delivery date sucks, but I'll be a good boy and wait for it.

Just got an email from apple "we have received the original parts for your imac....". WTF?? I never got the replacement keyboard, let alone ship back the old one.

I go to the DHL site to track it and lo and behold it was delivered and signed for at elk grove in California (Apple). there was a sorting problem. according to the tracking page, the "sorting problem" happened at the closest DHL facility to me. Huh, guess VA could easily be mistaken for CA.

Anyway, AppleCare is closed for the night, but I sent a help request through Apple's support site. Hopefully they'll get it sorted out and I'll get the replacement keyboard soon.

Funny, they don't need/want the old keyboard back!!

They don't need the old one back because they just got the new one back.

DHL is the worst of the big 4, in my experience.

The label probably got torn off. Apple has the return label under the label they send to you. If a belt or person or whatever tore the top label off the new info would send it back to Apple. I bet that is what happened.

DHL is just the latest paint job on the old Airborne trucks. At my old house, I used to always take my computers to the Apple Retail store to have them shipped, and had them shipped back to the Apple store.

This was because Apple used Airborne, and Airborne would insist that my street doesn't exist, becuase the map that they use has a slightly different name for the street than what is actually written on the street sign. USPS, FedEx and UPS all have no problem delivering, but AirBorne would either hold it or return it saying no such address.

Since I moved, they now seem to find my new house OK, but the delivery is always late.

Well, I don't have good things to add about DHL.

The last item that I purchased using DHL was 3 days late and looked like someone tried to play basketball with the box. Every corner crushed in. Luckily...luckily the item worked fine but I swear I will not use them and will request that sellers not use them.

yes. . .every single package from them has had problems. . .mostly they claim to deliver it when they don't. . .or they don't even leave a notice that a delivery was attempted. . .

I've take a day off and the package never comes and they say someone tried to deliver but I was home all day and no one came!

this has happened quite often, so avoid them whenever possible. . .

Reminds me of the time my wife's company shipped an important package to China. Guaranteed Wed became Thur and then after she called again and talked to someone higher up in the chain, They promised by 8 AM Friday Chinese time. When it didn't get there she called again at 6 am Eastern Standard Time they told her that it wasn't even Friday in China yet because they are 12 hours behind us. Huh. She told them they are 12 hours ahead and it is already Friday evening in China. No NO NO they told her, you don't know what you are talking about. It is still Thursday in China. Now this was several levels of supervisors up the chain and still they didn't have a clue.

I've never had a problem with DHL. I often choose them over UPS.
